Introducing V136-4.2 MW™ Extreme Climate Extreme potential The V136-4.2 MW™ Extreme Climate offers maximum energy production in low to medium wind speeds, while being designed for extreme weather conditions. It is capable of withstanding extreme average wind speeds of 53m/s (exceeding IEC class I extreme wind speed). Based on the proven V136-4.2 MW™, the Extreme Climate variant features an enforced hub and blade design, and it is applicable both onshore and offshore. Purposefully designed With the introduction of V136-4.2 MW™ Extreme Climate, which complements the existing V117-4.2 MW™ Typhoon variant, the Vestas portfolio is further strengthened to provide the optimal wind turbine solution for sites exposed to severe climate events. Both turbine variants come standard with Vestas’ certified Lightning Protection system and can be customised with relevant options such as Vestas cold climate solutions, High Wind Operation (HWO), and Large Diameter Steel Tower (LDST). Additionally, Vestas’ state-of-the-art full-scale converter offers advanced active and reactive power capabilities, making the V136-4.2 MW™ Extreme Climate suitable for areas with low grid capacity. On the shoulders of giants The Vestas 4 MW platform has a powerful legacy. Since its introduction in 2010, ongoing innovations have resulted in up to a 56% increase in energy production. With over 7,000 turbines installed in 44 countries worldwide, it has proven its worth under highly diverse conditions.
