FLSMIDTH THE RESULTS FLSmidth has reinvented itself to supply its project solutions cheaper, faster, and better than before. The company now has a clear customer focus throughout the organisation: all employees know exactly how their contribution creates value for FLSmidth’s customers – and within the company’s own value chain. With efficient performance management at all levels, each individual employee always knows whether they have done well today, this month, and this year. Another major initiative was the reduction of the project lead times. For example, earlier delivery of a cement plant will typically mean a gain of DKK 1 million per day, simply because the customer can start earning money sooner. So far lead times are down from 30 to 20 months. All this means that the group’s EBIT has increased from 2-3% to 8-10% and that FLSmidth is at the forefront when global players fight for new orders.
