SERVICE VESSEL FOR OFFSHORE WIND FARMS – ICE GOING Designed for the toughest demands. The service vessel is designed to be a robust and maintenance-friendly working platform for servicing offshore wind turbines both as a repair vessel and as a crew boat with 24 day passenger capacity. The arrangement layout and equipment make it possible to be operated by a crew of two. Working and cargo decks are arranged with cargo rail protection equipped with a dismountable offshore crane for landing equipment onto wind platforms. Access for service engineers takes place over the stem where a ‘bollard push’ of approximately 15 tons makes it possible to hold the stem steady against the platform in up to 2.0 m significant wave height. Forward deck is arranged with a landing area for equipment handled by the wind turbine crane. The fender system is adapted to a concrete base or steel structure for the wind turbine towers with height variable platforms to compensate for the tide. This can be adapted to other landing systems. The vessel is built in aluminum reinforced for operating in light ice winter. However, higher ice class can be obtained by using steel hull. 2
