We have been doing it for over 30 years, and our continued success depends wholly on the success of our customers investing in wind power. As with any investment, wind energy investors want to know they are investing in an industry with a solid, reliable and predictable business case. That is why we have developed cutting-edge technology and tried-and-tested processes to mitigate the unpredictable nature of wind projects. It’s why we become genuine partners on our customers’ wind project for the entire 20-year lifespan of their turbines. And it’s why we put so much effort into making sure our partners receive a stable, consistent return on their investment over the long term. product design expertise, rigorous testing and continual monitoring of our turbines. Our state-of-the-art Performance and Diagnostics Centre is the largest wind energy research, development and testing facility in the world. It monitors 130 data points from over 18,000 wind turbines around the world, totalling over 31,000 MW – 20 per cent of worldwide installed wind capacity. The result is the world’s largest set of wind turbine data, providing us with the complex information and sophisticated tools we need to spot any potential issues quickly. If a problem is identified, we schedule repairs for when the wind is low, minimising production loss and unscheduled maintenance costs and downtime. We provide our customers with bespoke forecasts of any necessary component renewals over the lifetime of their project. We test critical components to the highest standard in our unique Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) facility. Combined with real-time diagnostic data from the industry’s largest installed turbine fleet, this gives us the insight to maintain our position as world-beaters in the technical field, and the knowledge to minimise the uncertainty of unforeseen cost fluctuations. More consistent revenues In terms of revenues, we understand that a wind energy project’s power generation needs to start on time and at agreed levels to achieve the output forecasts set out in its business case. We have identified three key factors critical to achieving these fundamental expectations, and we are committed to delivering them: 1. On-time initiation: We have a proven track record for ensuring turbines begin generating power – and income – on schedule. 2. Guaranteed performance: We strive to deliver the output that you need to meet revenue plans. 3. Maximum uptime: We strive to eliminate lost production to safeguard predicted revenues. Quality components, whenever and wherever they are needed We manufacture each component to validated design specifications and monitor the production chain intensively to ensure the highest possible quality standards. Our Construction Excellence Centre is staffed by industry-leading technicians, devoted to developing uniform global processes. In addition, with our robust service packages, we cover the risks of the main turbine components, ensuring that the wind farm’s actual performance is in line with its forecast performance. By focusing on the priorities of our partners in this way, we help make the business case for investing in wind energy is as strong as possible, and ensure the cost of energy is competitively low and reassuringly predictable. More predictable costs Making sure our turbines perform as efficiently and effectively as they should, with predictable costs and stable revenue, is fundamental to delivering business case certainty. Cost and revenue are the two variables on which certainty – and profitability – depends, and we are dedicated to ensuring both are as secure as possible through our highly-specialised
<a10:updated>2011-02-09T11:42:58+01:00</a10:updated>

Vestas Page 4

Track record by country* Country Argentina Aruba Australia Austria Azerbaijan Belgium Brazil Bulgaria Canada Cape Verde Caribbean Islands Chile China Costa Rica Croatia Cuba Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Egypt Finland France Quantity 19 10 554 224 2 120 125 110 1,021 9 2 64 2,615 71 21 4 41 44 4,934 124 38 586 Total MW 11.80 30.00 1060.75 386.56 1.70 274.67 204.43 292.20 1,683.10 2.55 0.20 116.68 2,964.05 50.55 47.95 3.80 82.00 64.47 2,564.56 79.08 18.45 1,104.95
<a10:updated>2011-02-09T11:42:58+01:00</a10:updated>

Vestas Page 5

Germany Greece Hungary India Iran Israel Italy Jamaica Japan Jordan Kenya Latvia Lithuania Luxemburg Malaysia Mauritius Mexico Morocco Netherlands New Caledonia New Zealand North Korea Norway Peru 5,879 698 49 4,231 37 3 2,235 33 379 5 6 1 6 13 1 1 56 84 1,280 20 219 2 27 1 7,405.13 944.32 105.45 2,434.59 16.38 0.46 2,485.37 38.93 509.98 1.13 5.10 0.85 18.00 9.40 0.15 0.10 103.13 50.40 1,506.35 4.50 309.96 0.18 15.88 0.25 Philippines Poland Portugal Republic of Ireland Romania Russia Slovakia South Africa South Korea Spain Sri Lanka Sweden Switzerland Taiwan Thailand Turkey USA United Arab Emirates United Kingdom Uruguay 20 204 347 546 98 3 4 3 104 2,696 5 1,012 17 50 1 139 11,026 1 1,137 15 33.00 422.63 628.90 555.90 271.66 1.10 2.64 4.21 166.49 3,587.86 3.00 1,117.63 24.56 86.10 0.15 375.91 8,116.31 0.85 1,674.92 30.00 Total 43,433 44,114.20 * Delivered Vestas wind turbines as of 31 December 2010.
<a10:updated>2011-02-09T11:42:58+01:00</a10:updated>

Vestas Page 6

Offshore track record by country* Country Belgium Denmark Japan Netherlands Sweden United Kingdom Total Quantity 55 102 2 128 11 282 580 Total MW 165.00 197.00 1.32 246.80 12.97 784.00 1,407.09 * Delivered Vestas offshore wind turbines as of 31 December 2010.
<a10:updated>2011-02-09T11:42:58+01:00</a10:updated>

Vestas Page 7

Wind.
