556.6 MW The service partnership covers Infigen’s entire operating fleet, comprising 556.6 MW of installed capacity across Australia. 189 MW The fleet includes 189 MW of Suzlon® S88-2.1 MW turbines, underlining Vestas’ ability to service large multibrand assets and to act as a fleetwide partner. 10.5 years The average length of the service contracts are 10.5 years. bringing all turbines to their 20th year of operation. The V82-1.65MW® and the Suzlon® S88 turbines will be equipped with vortex generators, improving the aerodynamic abilities, capturing more wind over the blade root, and increasing Annual Energy Production (AEP). In addition, the V90-3.0MW® turbines in Infigen’s fleet have been upgraded with Extended Cut Out, a PowerPlus™ feature that allows the turbine to safely operate in higher wind speeds, and thereby increase AEP. Together, the upgrades are estimated to increase AEP by 1.3% (17,000 MWh) across the fleet. PowerPlus™ features are installed on thousands of turbines all over the world, helping asset owners to increase output. For Infigen, it will mean higher production from their alreadyinstalled turbines, strengthening the overall business case. Mutual commitment At the core of the partnership stands a mutual commitment, that allows ideal conditions for both partners to accomplish operational targets. For Vestas, long-term commitment from wind asset owners allow the service operations to become more strategic and better planned, ultimately reducing costs and risks for asset owners. Long-term service contracts enable a proactive service approach, including predictive and preventive services. A strong commitment from the asset owner is therefore the optimal condition for Vestas to perform outstanding service. Vice versa, Vestas’ long-term commitment to costs and energy yield availabilities creates the best conditions for Infigen to maximise profitability over the life of the assets. Thereby, Vestas is incentivised to deploy the operational advantages of the longterm partnership to the benefit of Infigen, and create a win-win relationship. Vestas & Infigen Partnership 3
