Growth leads to expansion in the Faroes Salmon processors in the Faroe Islands have been enjoying the global upswing in the salmon industry. This includes PF Faroe Salmon Processing, whose operations cover the value chain from farming and slaughtering to further processing and product sales. Interlocking brand solutions The new turnkey processing solution will go online in the summer of 2007, equipped with a range of interlocking Marel Food Systems equipment. Raw material is pregraded at the slaughterhouse on Marels Salmon Packing Grader before being transported and weighedin at the further processing plant. From there, it goes through a Carnitech Salmon Filleting machine and is then automatically trimmed in a Marel Intelligent Trimming Machine ITM. Next, fillets pass through Carnitechs pinbone removal system, and a Carnitech skinning machine and manual brown fat removal system. Fully trimmed fillets are then portioned on two Scanvaegt portion cutters. Yield control is handled with Marel Hopper Scales and MPS software. Fish portions are vacuumpacked and boxed.
